Friend,

Inauguration Day is a solemn American tradition that marks our democracy’s commitment to honoring the will of the people. Today, I could not be more proud to watch President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris take their oaths office at the 59th Presidential Inauguration.

Friend, I don’t have to tell you that this has been an extraordinarily difficult time in our country’s history, but after so much darkness, we can now see a path forward. In electing Biden and Harris, the American people chose reason, common decency, empathy, and progress. They rejected the fear, chaos, and division that has marred the last four years in America and threatened the very ideals our democracy stands on.

We can’t forget that this day is the result of the tireless efforts of patriots from across the country who stood up and defended our democracy, people like you. The everyday Americans who volunteered and donated. The organizers who galvanized their communities and got their neighbors to the polls. The poll workers and election officials who made sure voting ran smoothly. And every voter who cast a ballot for a better America.

We should be proud of all we’ve accomplished together. But the fight is far from over. We must hold accountable those leaders who have fueled a traitorous movement led by outgoing President Trump, who have allowed lies and derision to go unchecked, and who have turned their backs on our sacred democratic institutions.

Donate to Democratic Majority Action and let’s make sure those traitors who've failed America face consequences at the ballot box.

Thank you,
Amy
