Today is Inauguration Day and we couldn't be more excited to see Joe Biden and Kamala Harris become our new President and Vice President.

Today is a historic day that we've been working towards for the last few years. Today begins an era of new Democratic leadership that is marked by a willingness to pass gun safety legislation that will save lives.

The Biden-Harris administration represents the best chance to enact meaningful federal change that will make our communities safer from gun violence.

This issue is a top priority for President Biden and Vice President Harris. The nation is behind them, and we have helped their transition team identify executive actions they can take on day one.

But the fight in Congress won't be easy. The gun lobby won't give up four year's worth of gains overnight. But if we have the resources to keep moving public opinion on this issue, defending President Biden's actions, and holding Congress accountable, then we are going to usher in a new year of gun safety in this country.

Which is why today, we're asking our top supporters if you will chip in $3 to Giffords PAC to help us reach our fundraising goals so we can keep the pressure on Congress? We are so close to dramatic change on this issue.

We hope you are able to take some time today to watch and enjoy the inauguration. We should take the time today to celebrate and really feel this victory.

But then tomorrow it's time to get to work. We've never been closer to winning dramatic change on this issue and we can't afford to take our foot off the gas now.
