Hi friend,
"The FBI and the New York City Police Department passed information to U.S. Capitol Police about the possibility of violence during the protests Wednesday against the counting of the Electoral College vote," according to NBC News.
"New York police, who have the most robust intelligence collection and analytical arm of any local police agency in the country, sent law enforcement agencies across the country -- including Capitol Police -- an intelligence packet describing threats and violent rhetoric on social media in the weeks and days leading up to the rally."
Despite having received information from multiple sources about the impending siege on the U.S. Capitol, federal law enforcement were not only unprepared but also didn't deploy any tear gas or rubber bullets to combat the insurrectionists even though they did so when Black Lives Matter activists were peacefully protesting last year.
We're so excited for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris to be officially sworn in -- but we're concerned about security protocols being followed after what we saw on January 6.
With the inauguration in less than an hour, we need to know:
Should law enforcement agencies cooperate with each other to protect the inauguration?
