Today is Inauguration Day - a day that we have been long awaiting for since the day Donald Trump took office. Our community of Black, Latinx, AAPI, Indigenous and immigrant voters helped elect Joe Biden because we want a country where all families can be together and free to thrive - where we can create the road to citizenship for 11 million people. We delivered - and it's time for the new administration to deliver too.
CIRC and CIRC Action Fund, along with our Federal Steering Committee, is calling on the Biden/Harris Administration to place an indefinite moratorium on detentions and deportations and COVID relief for all, regardless of immigration status . We invite directly impacted folks to join our federal steering committee, a space where CIRC membership, staff and allies are bringing their resources to the national fight for an immigration overhaul.

We are committed to continue pushing the Biden administration to undo Trump's actions immediately by rescinding all Trump era immigration rules which include repealing the Muslim ban, the shut down of all private detention centers and investment of community alternatives, and to continue pushing for comprehensive reform of the immigration system which has long been dysfunctional before Trump became president.

Grassroots fundraising will help CIRC Action Fund support candidates who have pledged to put our community first - not the interests of corporations and the status quo.

Colorado Legislative Session 2021
The Colorado Legislative Session is set to begin on February 16th, 2021 and we are working to push two bills to protect the rights of immigrants in Colorado. Our team is working to build a diverse group of progressive organizations around Colorado who are not current members of CIRC to become supporters of our two bills. These organizations range from student groups to local Democratic parties and clubs to progressive organizations in Colorado who support immigrant rights. By building power from the ground up we can educate our community on these two bills and why they are necessary in the fight for immigrant rights.
Campaign for Data Privacy for All [[link removed]] is working to ensure all Colorado departments have strong data privacy protections to ensure that all Colorado residents’ personal information is safe. It is past time for Colorado to protect its residents—particularly those who trust Colorado government agencies with their personal information.

The Campaign for Dignity and Due Process [[link removed]] is working to ensure all Colorado immigrants have access to legal representation through passing a statewide legal defense fund. Immigration detention is the ONLY legal procedure in the nation where someone can be detained without the right to a government-funded lawyer.
As Legislative Session begins, CIRC Action Fund will be sending out ways for you to get involved and advocate for our bills. This could range from sharing our digital petitions on social media, to writing Letters to the Editors and submitting them to your local newspaper, and even giving testimony as to why these bills need to be passed.
