This Monday marks our party's most critical fundraising milestone of the 2020 race yet: September's end-of-quarter FEC deadline. Since you're one of our party's most dedicated supporters, I wanted to reach out directly to explain why making your first donation of the year before Monday's deadline is so vital to our chances of winning in 2020.

Democrats can't win next year without building a strong foundation for our eventual nominee and Democrats up and down the ballot -- and we must invest in that foundation now. Trump has raised over $200 million for his reelection just this year, so we can't afford to wait until next year, or even next quarter, before turning up the pressure on Republicans.

As our third fundraising quarter reaches an end, we are closing in on the critical, early window in which your investment in the DNC has the biggest impact. That's why it's more important than ever that Democrats reach this end-of-quarter goal. If 209 more donors from Washington step up to make a contribution, we can hit our goal together before Monday's deadline.

The 2020 election is shaping up to be more important, more challenging, and more expensive than any I can remember in my lifetime, which means we have to redouble our efforts starting right now. By making an investment in our party before Monday, you'll play an integral role in funding programs like these:

-- Early organizing in battleground states has to happen for Democrats up and down the ticket to win. The DNC is recruiting, training, and paying homegrown field organizers in key battleground states we narrowly lost in 2016 to mobilize their communities starting now. Scaling up these efforts and building a powerhouse ground game for 2020 couldn't be more urgent.

-- The Data Warehouse is the centerpiece of the Democratic Party's massive effort to overhaul what was once a crumbling data infrastructure and put our nominee in the best position possible to target voters and win from coast to coast.

-- The War Room is our party's battleground states-focused research and rapid-response hub made up of dozens of research, communications, and mobilization experts entirely dedicated to kicking Trump out of the Oval Office. The War Room lifts up the real stories of the families most devastated by Trump's disgraceful policies in real time, and will be key to keeping his poll numbers as low as possible in key battleground states.

If we're going to defeat Donald Trump and the GOP, we need ALL of our programs fully funded and operating in unison, and we can do that if Democrats hit our crucial end-of-quarter goal. I know we can get there by Monday, John -- but only if 209 supporters from Washington make a donation before our deadline.
