Dear John,
Today a new administration begins. And after the violence of the attack on the Capitol, many are calling for unity. At AFSC, we too are calling for unity–based on truth, accountability, and ultimately, with those achieved, reconciliation.
As part of the AFSC community, you know how much work we have yet to do to make our society whole and our planet sustainable.
As President Biden and Vice President Harris take office, let’s keep standing with those most affected by injustice. Let’s keep speaking truth to power. Let’s keep resisting white supremacy and advocating for racial and economic justice, drawing strength from the legacy of all who came before us. Let’s keep working for a future grounded in peace, justice, and equity–until we bring about the changes our communities so urgently need.
Thank you once again for being part of a worldwide community of people who care for one another. We look forward to taking action with you in the coming weeks, months, and years to bring about a future free of violence, inequality, and oppression.
In peace and solidarity,
Your friends at AFSC
