It is amazing when you think about it:

New York Times Headline reading Biden is expected to cancel the Keystone XL Pipeline permit on his first day in office.

An unprecedented movement led by Indigenous communities, farmers and ranchers, young folks, climate activists, and supporters like you, is about to win a decade-long fight against one of the most disastrous pipeline projects in this country.

Our movement won this victory in large part because we effectively pushed the Obama Administration to apply a climate test to the Keystone XL pipeline. Now, Biden must apply that same test for every energy project moving forward.

Here's the truth: it's not enough to stop one pipeline at a time — we must go further and think bigger — we must implement a climate test for ALL fossil fuel projects.

That’s why we’re calling on Biden to apply a climate test for every proposed fossil fuel project moving forward:

Can you add your name to our petition calling on Biden to adopt a climate test to ensure that all projects that impact our climate are stopped?

Had Keystone XL been completed, this pipeline would have taken as much as 830,000 barrels a day of Canadian and North Dakota crude to refineries in Texas and Louisiana to be processed into oil. That's 25,245,833 barrels a month. 302,950,000 barrels a year.

It was your support — and the support of millions of people around the country — that helped to ensure Keystone XL was stopped. But the fight to defeat the fossil fuel industry is far from over:

Between now and the phaseout of fossil fuels in the United States and around the world, the fossil fuel industry and the politicians they bankroll are going to do everything in their power to protect their profits and continue destroying our climate.

The good news is that while the greed and political influence of the fossil fuel industry is strong, our climate movement is stronger. And we have the defeat of Keystone XL to prove it. So we are asking:

Please add your name to our list of 350.org supporters who demand a climate test from the Biden Administration.

This is our time to go big. We are about to inaugurate a president with the strongest climate commitments in US history.

Our job is to demand swift executive actions that prioritize our communities, stop all harmful fossil fuel infrastructure, starting with Line 3 and Dakota Access pipelines, and hold billionaires and polluters accountable.

Now the real work of rebuilding our country and securing a livable future begins.

And yet, despite electing a president with the strongest climate platform in history, the fight to actually pass those policies will not be easy.

In order for Biden to be a true climate president, he must not only ensure bold climate action — he must also address the inequities of the climate crisis by supporting legislation that prioritizes Black, Indigenous, working class, and communities of color most impacted and in need of a Just Recovery and Green New Deal.

Together, we will hold the Biden Administration to their promises and push them to be bolder on every issue.

Thank you again for taking a moment to read this email and for adding your name today.
