Just over four years ago, Donald J. Trump astonished the world by becoming the President-elect. Few people gave him a chance. Countless individuals, including members of his own party and of the American intelligence community, tried to block him from ever setting foot in the White House. With the help of tens of millions of Americans, Donald J. Trump proved almost everyone wrong to become the 45th President of the United States.
President Trump seized his opportunity as our nation’s chief executive with tremendous enthusiasm and commitment to the promises he made to the American people.
He secured our border.
He protected life and religious freedom.
He unleashed an unstoppable economy up to the COVID-19 hysteria through pro-growth policies, such as tax cuts and deregulation.
He rebuilt our military, prevented new wars, and brought thousands of troops home.
He promoted an unapologetic ‘America First’ agenda around the world, ending disastrous entanglements in the Paris Climate Accord, the Iran Nuclear Deal, the North American Free Trade Agreement, the World Health Organization, and others.
He gave the United States the keys to energy independence.
He prioritized our military veterans.
He nominated over 200 judges to the federal bench, including three Supreme Court Justices.
He worked tirelessly, along with many in his administration, to make America great again.
Through his entire presidency, President Trump faced unprecedented attacks from the media, the radical left, members of the Republican Party establishment, and foreign leaders. President Trump fought against attempts to undermine his administration, while continuing to put the American people first. These attacks included the highly partisan Robert Mueller investigation and two politically motivated impeachments. He encountered daily opposition from members of the federal bureaucracy, who worked to impede his agenda.
Despite the challenges he experienced, President Trump was one of the most successful presidents of our great nation. I am grateful for President Trump’s leadership, his commitment to his promises, his unwavering belief in the values that have made our nation great, and his friendship. It was an honor to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives while he was president, and I wish him nothing but the best as he transitions from his role as America’s Commander in Chief.
