Many of us have spent the past two months cycling between joy, grief, and anxiety. The last few weeks have been especially difficult.
Today, we're hopeful. Democrats scored two big wins in Georgia and flipped the Senate. And in just a few hours, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will take the oath of office to become President and Vice President of the United States.
We're now in a position to put our country on a better path and reverse some of the damage of the last four years. We should not only be optimistic about the days ahead but overjoyed at what we have the opportunity to achieve together.
With your support, Bob and his colleagues in the Senate and the House will work with President Biden to ensure that every American has the opportunity to thrive, starting from birth and through their golden years. We can build support on the ground in every community to ensure that we all have access to good jobs, high-quality education, affordable health care, a clean and safe environment, and a government that is accountable and puts people first.
We reached this moment because we fought for it. People like you invested what you could early, volunteered to help far away campaigns online, and got your friends and family out to vote.
Even with all of these successes and opportunities, our work is far from over. While it may seem far into the future, our team is already working to defend our majorities in 2022 and 2024, and we're counting on you to stay engaged.
On this Inauguration Day, we hope you will take a moment to reflect on what we've accomplished and where we're going together. Today, we celebrate. Tomorrow, we get back to work.
