These days it's easy to get caught up in the news about the presidential race. Trust me -- I know!

But I wanted to send a quick note to remind you of how important the upcoming Virginia General Assembly election is.

Less than two years ago when Virginians last cast their ballots, Democrats won historic gains, backed by candidates like Danica Roem, Elizabeth Guzman, John Bell, and Jennifer Carroll-Foy. One race came down to drawing a name out of a hat -- literally -- that determined the control of the House of Delegates.

The good folks at the Democratic Party of Virginia are working hard to make sure Virginians come out on November 5th to turn the General Assembly blue. But they need your help to do it.

We can't just focus on the White House. If we want to create the better future for America that I know is possible, we'll also need to elect Democrats up and down the ballot.

So we can't take our eyes off the prize in Virginia. On November 5th, Virginians have a chance to elect legislators who'll put hardworking people first and fight for a stronger, more inclusive middle class -- and a chance to send a resounding message that voters reject Trump and Virginia Republicans' poisonous rhetoric and dangerous policies.

Your donation will help the DPVA mobilize voters across the Commonwealth on November 5th to elect a government that works for all Virginians.
