Dear John, Tomorrow we inaugurate a new president. But January 6 will forever be a stain on American democracy. All those who were responsible must be held accountable. But accountability is not sufficient, nor is a transition to a new president. The events of January 6 exposed the fragility of our democracy, and we must take bold action to strengthen it and safeguard it against extremism. Democracy reform for our politically and racially diverse nation must be the number one priority of elected officials at all levels of government. Please join us online Sunday, January 31 at 4pm CT to hear a discussion moderated by State Representative Cedrick Frazier, Vice Chair of the Public Safety and Criminal Justice Reform Committee, with award-winning political scientist and author Dr. Lee Drutman and U.S. Representative Angie Craig, a leading advocate of government reform and cosponsor of H.R. 1 in Congress, about how we can strengthen our democracy through reform. The event is free to attend. Please register at fairvotemn.org/rsvp. We the People can rebuild our system and make lasting change so that we have the inclusive, representative and responsive political leadership that we need to lead our country into the future. Please join us. Sincerely, Jeanne Massey |
