The attack on the Capitol is not an instance where we should “turn the other cheek.”

White supremacists, at the direction of Donald Trump were armed with zip ties and guns, smashed in windows, kicked down doors, entered the offices of Members of Congress, broke into the House chamber, and waved their confederate flags in the halls of Congress with the intent of staging a deadly coup.

This is an egregious offense — and we cannot overlook it. Donald Trump has violated the rule of law one too many times and must be held accountable. He must be banned from holding office.

The House has already done their duty and impeached Trump for a second time. Now, it’s in the Senate's hands.
