Today Equality Federation is excited to introduce our new Advocacy & Civic Engagement Strategist, Vashti Selix . In this role, Vashti will work with state-based member organizations to develop plans for integrated voter engagement and sustain year-round organizing programs.

With legislative sessions starting, Vashti is joining the Federation team at the perfect time. They will support the states as they fight back against anti-LGBTQ attacks with smart and strategic organizing. Vashti will also help us as we ramp up our work with more state-based members to build year-round voter engagement programs, much like the one built in Georgia that helped secure the recent Senate wins.

Vashti’s wealth of knowledge in legislative, public education, and electoral campaigns will be a great asset to the Federation’s state-based partners, and we can’t wait for you to meet them!

We are also excited to announce that Ian Palmquist has been promoted to Deputy Director! Ian has been on the Federation staff since 2012. In his new role, he will partner with me in the overall management of the organization. Ian will continue working with our outstanding program staff to develop powerful voter engagement programs, build strong, resilient, and adaptive leaders in the states, and support our members as they fight for critical protections and against ugly attacks on the LGBTQ community in state legislative sessions.
