It’s official: The House of Representatives has opened an investigation into the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol.
Ayanna was the first member of Congress to call for an investigation into how violent insurrectionists were able to gain entry to the Capitol so easily, where the security response failed both before and during the violence, and who exactly aided and abetted this attack on our government.
But our work is far from over. We need massive public support to keep up the pressure and get to the bottom of what happened.
The American people have a right to know what role members of law enforcement and other government officials might have played in the violence that put so many lives at risk.
We cannot simply “turn the page” — we have to keep pushing to hold Donald Trump and every single person who encouraged and supported the attack accountable for their actions. Ayanna will keep fighting to shed light on the complete and utter failure of our law enforcement and agency apparatus to secure the U.S. Capitol and the people inside it.
