The beverage alcohol industry has long disregarded the 55-plus demographic, even though this cohort consumes more alcohol than other generations and, contrary to popular belief, willingly embraces new trends. That's why it's time to redirect the industry's attention to older drinkers. NBWA's Chief Economist Lester Jones asks, "Why aren't you chasing the dollars? Del Papa Distributing donates $65,000 to local food bank

Del Papa Distributing donated $65,000 in matching funds to the Food Bank of the Golden Crescent. The food bank increased the amount of food they've distributed by 52% in 2020 due to the pandemic. "We wanted to support the Food Bank of the Golden Crescent's efforts during this time to provide help and nourishment to our neighbors in need. We know the ongoing economic impact on our communities due to the pandemic are creating even stronger pressures on those already living on the margins and worrying about feeding their families or themselves," reflected Del Papa's Vice President of Corporate Relations and Communication Peter Williamson.

Girardi Distributors donate water to Clarksburg firefighters

Girardi Distributors is starting off the new year by giving back. This weekend, they delivered 2,500 cans of emergency water to volunteer firefighters in Clarksburg, Mass. "Giving back to the community and trying to be a community partner. The Girardi family has been in business for over 74 years and we are the only beer distributor in Berkshire County," said Girardi Distributors General Manager Tom Leveque.

Virginia distillery and owner facing charges of dumping industrial waste

Filibuster Distillery LLC and owner Siddharth Dilawri have been indicted on 115 charges involving illegal dumping of industrial waste. Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring said that this case marks the first criminal indictments related to environmental violations brought by his office and the state Department of Environmental Quality.
