While we look forward to working with the Biden administration to protect and defend reproductive rights, we know that our work is far from over, and the Center for Reproductive Rights remains clear-eyed about the very real challenges that lie ahead.

During Donald Trump's presidency, the U.S. Senate confirmed more than 220 judges, including three Supreme Court justices, to lifetime appointments on the federal bench. These judges and justices will be hearing cases that will impact millions for generations to come.

We continue to see escalating threats to the future of reproductive rights by hostile elected officials at the state level. Since 2011, nearly 500 state restrictions on access to abortion have been passed, and the Center is currently litigating over 30 cases challenging these dangerous laws in over a dozen states.

And we are keenly aware that communities worldwide are suffering from civil unrest and the impact of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, while also facing increased levels of inequality, discrimination, and human rights violations.
