Today marks the end of a dark chapter in our history, friend.
The last day of Mr. Trump’s divisive presidency may not be the end of the bitter partisan divide, but removing him from office serves as a distinct turning point that gives me a strong feeling of hope for the future of our country and our world. I’m excited to see us all move forward and get to work on building a better, greener, more equitable America.
Tomorrow, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will be officially sworn in as our next President and Vice President. This is the culmination of years of hard work, by this organization as well as countless others, and despite a historic uphill battle against a global pandemic and a corrupt administration, we came through it together to stand at this precipice.
It is nothing short of astounding what we’ve all accomplished together, and I have so much faith in what we can do next. It finally feels possible to achieve real climate action, address systemic racism, and leverage the power of the market to create a more resilient economy. The team that the Biden-Harris administration has put together assures me that we will be able to build back better in the next few years and for generations to come.
I’m ready to continue to work with you and partners in the labor, justice, and climate movements to mobilize new voters, enact bold policies, and ensure that the promise of a better future becomes a reality.
Hope you’re ready for what’s next,
Tom
