** Acting BLM director's long recusal list

William Perry Pendley ([link removed])
In an email to Bureau of Land Management staff, Acting Director William Perry Pendley offered a 17-page list ([link removed]) of companies, individuals, and organizations he would recuse himself from to avoid making decisions that would create conflicts of interest. The 57 entities include oil, gas, and mining interests as well as clients represented by Pendley's former law firm. Despite the Trump administration’s ethics pledge requiring a two-year recusal, the document says many of Pendley’s recusals expire after just one year.
Just earlier this week, Pendley was forced to recuse himself ([link removed]) from legal matters related to President Trump's attempts to shrink two national monuments in Utah, due to the fact that Pendley remains the attorney ([link removed]) for San Juan, Kane, and Garfield counties that contain the monuments.

NM Political Report ([link removed] Perry Pendley)
Quote of the day
The Trump administration barges ahead with their efforts to sell off public resources regardless of public sentiment, concern from Congress or the courts. The BLM lands are the real jackpot of gas, oil, coal, and minerals for the old school economy natural resource exploiters. But if the Trump crowd finds their efforts at dismantling the BLM succeeded, we can be sure the national wildlife refuges, the national forests, and ultimately the national parks will be next for a similar program."
