John, last week, we announced an ambitious fundraising goal for Larry Krasner’s re-election campaign.

Today, we want to share with you some examples of what he’s achieved as the District Attorney of Philadelphia, and what’s possible when we elect people-focused DAs.

Before that, though, it’s important to know that we’re not the only ones who've noticed Larry’s work. His leadership has made him a top target of police unions, Republican PACs, and anti-reform groups working to prevent his re-election.

We’ll need some serious grassroots power to overcome these threats. That’s why — once you’ve read about all the great work Larry has done in office — we’re asking you to make a split donation of $5 to his re-election campaign.

When Larry was first elected, he promised a criminal justice revolution. And he delivered almost immediately.

• He rolled out a series of directives to seek shorter sentences, divert low-level offenses from the justice system, end prosecuting marijuana possession, and charge crimes at a lower level.
• He released a list of 29 officers from the Philadelphia Police Department that were on a “do-not-call list” — meaning that they were so tainted that they should be considered unreliable as witnesses.
• He defended the rights of all Philidelphians to protest in support of Black Lives. On national television he said, “Anyone, including federal law enforcement, who unlawfully assaults and kidnaps people will face criminal charges from my office. At trial, they will face a Philadelphia jury.”

This email would be 20 pages long if we detailed all of Larry’s accomplishments since being elected. He has shown everyone that an aspirational approach is the best approach to dismantling and rebuilding our broken, racist justice system.

That approach has also earned him a lot of enemies. From police unions, super PACs, and even Donald Trump himself — they’re making it a personal mission to defeat his re-election. And we’ll need a LOT of resources and support to overcome their attacks.
