When We All Vote
------------------------------

John,

You’ve probably already heard that the 2021 Presidential Inauguration is tomorrow -- but what exactly is an inauguration? Here’s a quick guide to what you’ll see tomorrow and what it all means. ⤵️

What is an inauguration?
An inauguration is a ceremony that swears in an elected official under oath for their term in public office.

What will the inauguration look like tomorrow? What does it mean?
The presidential inauguration takes place every four years on January 20th to swear in the elected president for their term -- and that’s what will be happening tomorrow. At 12 PM EST, President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Harris will be sworn into office, and the presidency will be transferred over from the current president to the president-elect as mandated in the U.S. Constitution.

How will the 2021 presidential inauguration look different from those in previous years?
In recent years, the presidential inauguration has been open to the public -- people have gathered at the U.S. Capitol and on the National Mall to watch and celebrate the swearing in of the president-elect. This year, in order to protect against the spread of COVID-19 and to ensure safety following the insurrection at the Capitol, the National Mall will be closed to the public and people are encouraged not to come to Washington, DC. We can all still be a part of this historic moment by tuning into the live coverage of the inauguration on major news networks like ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, PBS, CNN, Univision, Telemundo, BET and MSNBC. There will also be a livestream available online via CSPAN [[link removed]] .
