"Fuel Our Kids": Fighting childhood hunger in New York City [VIDEO]

No Kid Hungry and NYC TV station PIX11 joined forces recently to take on food insecurity in the NYC public school system. The resulting "Fuel our Kids" campaign builds awareness that all 1.1 million New York City students are eligible for free breakfast and lunch. To increase the appeal of school meals, the city has revamped the menus to include more variety (cuisines from around the globe!), as well as healthier options like Meatless Monday, for all students.

This is just one example of the initiatives you're supporting to end childhood hunger once and for all. Thank you for all you do to help fuel kids throughout our nation!

Stat of the Month: 1.1 Million

Since No Kid Hungry launched its summer text line, more than 1.1 million messages have gone out to parents seeking information on summer feeding sites near them. This summer alone, parents received nearly 350,000 text messages with the addresses of nearby summer meals programs. That’s a huge increase over 2018. Your help powers innovations like this to help kids during the hungry summer months when school is out.
