The past 4 years have brought endless challenges and threats in society, ranging from racially-motivated violence to Islamophobia. Many American Muslims suffered from hopelessness and a lack of belonging and yearn for a future that promises a decent living, a sense of dignity, and self-worth.
Despite everything, our Muslim brothers and sisters have never stopped hoping. They have put their trust in Allah and have kept moving forward. It is why they look forward to January 20, 2021, with hope.
Joe Biden promised to work closely with Muslim-Americans to address the needs and legitimate concerns
of the Muslim-American community. He promised to treat everyone with dignity and respect and to make America a welcoming beacon of hope, where people of all backgrounds, cultures, and faiths can live freely without fear or intimidation.
We need him to keep his promises and end the injustices of the past four years. We need Joe Biden to demonstrate his commitment to turning the page on a new chapter in our country’s treatment of American Muslims. Repealing the Muslim ban is a first step.
We look forward to being included in a more diverse federal government, to have our voices heard, reform our
criminal justice system, and counter racism in policing.
As always, our passion for justice helps keep us focused on our vision of a better America, In Sha Allah
