I wish I were making this up? ? ? ? ? Tomorrow is inauguration, friend ? and we have serious work to do. In recent days, Trump has quietly enacted some of the most damaging anti-environment policies of his term.

That includes a wave of mining and drilling projects on protected public land.
That includes an exemption for Big Oil and other major polluters to sidestep greenhouse gas limits.
That includes a new rule preventing the EPA from using sound science in their policymaking.
That includes a last-minute handout to oil and gas industries, lowering the royalties they pay when they drill on public land.

These are all attacks on the environment that have happened since the election. Many have happened since the attack on the Capitol. We're in a dangerous moment ? at this point, Trump has virtually zero accountability to the public.

Each and every one of these unlawful policies must be tossed out or overturned when Biden takes office. But it has to happen while the Senate prepares to convict Trump ? and while the country grapples with the terrorist attack he instigated.

Bottom line ? fixing these policies needs to happen immediately, but that will only happen if the environmental movement shows up in a major way right now.

Friend ? this month's results in Georgia changed everything for our future. Rev. Raphael Warnock will represent Georgians as the first Black Senator from the state. And having Rev. Warnock and Jon Ossoff in the Senate means we have a slim environmental majority in both the Senate and the House.

There's a real shot at passing legislation that will seriously tackle the climate crisis. A real shot at putting Black, Indigenous, and other communities of color impacted by environmental injustice at the center of the solutions. A real shot to make 2021 the most important year in history for the environment.

But what happens next will depend on the environmental movement. Winning votes will depend on how big we can go with our campaigns. This is our last best chance, friend. We have to fight like our lives depend on it, because they do.

I hope you'll contribute. Here's where things stand right now:
