"Katie Porter is off the House Financial Services Committee. We’re all
worse off for it." -- Washington Post column

[ [link removed] ]Are you willing to do something about this news? Our friend Maxine
Waters could make the difference, but she needs to hear from us now.

Here's the deal...

As you know, Katie Porter is the House version of Senator Elizabeth
Warren. Millions of people watch videos of her holding accountable
JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon, corrupt Trump appointees, and many others.

Thanks to Katie, once-ignored hearings are amplified by everyone from Bill
Maher on HBO to Rachel Maddow and Joy Reid on MSNBC. This creates
accountability.

To be more involved in climate issues, Katie asked to serve on the Natural
Resources Committee in addition to the Financial Services Committee and
Government Oversight Committees on which she served last Congress. This is
normal -- many members serve on three committees.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi determines if Katie gets her preferred committee
assignments with input from others. Pelosi could reverse her decision to
take Katie off the Financial Services Committee, but this won't happen if
Maxine Waters (Chair of the powerful committee) does not ask for it.

[ [link removed] ]SIGN THE PETITION: Maxine Waters, we love your fierce voice in
Congress. We need you and Katie Porter holding big banks accountable
together. Please call for Katie Porter to be back on your Financial
Services Committee.

Katie Porter should not have to choose between challenging Big Polluters
who cause climate change and challenging Wall Street banks that cheat
families during an economic crisis. America needs Katie doing both.

If you respect Katie's voice, she needs you to take a stand right now.
After you sign, we'll give you more steps you can take.

Thanks for being a bold progressive.
