NRDC Activist,
As our nation continues to reel from the despicable assault on our Capitol earlier this month, I am hopeful that better days are ahead — tomorrow, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will be sworn in as President and Vice President of the United States.
The inauguration is the first step toward repairing the damage Trump and his allies inflicted on the foundations of our democracy, and it kicks off a new, urgent era of climate action.
I am full of hope, but I also know we have a lot of work to do to reverse Trump's destructive environmental legacy — and it will be met with deep resistance from powerful corporate polluters and their cronies in Washington.
At the same time that we act to shore up our democracy, we have to raise our voices NOW and push the new administration to address the climate crisis and roll back Trump's worst attacks in its first 100 days, beginning with the priorities below.
Add your name now to our petition calling on President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Harris to take bold action for our climate, health, and environment during their first 100 days in office.
NRDC's Priorities for the Biden-Harris Administration's First 100 Days
- Protecting the climate:
- Rejoin the Paris Climate Agreement
- Devote 40% of climate investment to frontline communities
- Protect the U.S. from power plant pollution
- Restore strong clean car and fuel efficiency standards and expand investments in electric vehicles

Our calls to action are ambitious, no doubt about it. After four years of relentless attacks on our environment, communities, and health, and a planet teetering on the brink of climate catastrophe, anything less would be irresponsible.
The forces that Trump unleashed against our democracy will not disappear. The same people who have ingested the lies about the election results espouse the lie that climate change is a hoax.
While Trump assaulted our democracy, he tried to lay waste to our planet. As he leaves office, there’s a great deal to repair.
This is why I'm asking you to join NRDC in calling on the new administration to act immediately to reverse some of Trump's most destructive attacks on our environment and public health and to enact bold climate action.
The challenges ahead of us are daunting — but progress is within reach. Here at NRDC, we're ready to roll up our sleeves and get to work. We hope you are, too.
Sincerely,

Mitch Bernard
President, NRDC
