Join Ian on Friday to help launch his congressional campaign!
** This Friday: Join Ian for His
Campaign Kickoff
------------------------------------------------------------
Last November, we broke records and brought our district closer to victory than we've been in six years. I've been absolutely blown away by the support you have all given me -- and continue to give. When I ran in 2018, I did so because I believed I could make a positive change in the world. This time, I'm running because all of you believe I can make that change.
Join me tomorrow – Friday, Sept. 27 at 6 p.m. – when I officially launch my campaign for U.S. Congress at the Monticello Community Center.
Running for Congress is hardly what I expected to be doing with my life after active duty service in the Air Force. I am, by no means, a typical candidate. But like you: I am a typical American.
I've lived through financial hardship. I had parents that struggled to make ends meet while raising me. And I understand what living paycheck to paycheck really feels like.
That's exactly why I'm running. I understand the struggle so many families are going through, and I will fight for you.
There is no shortage of crises facing our country. On top of all the issues facing families who are having a hard time paying their monthly bills, we are now dealing with a president that is constantly undermining the norms of our democracy. Earlier this week, Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced that the House of Representatives will, officially, begin an impeachment inquiry.
It's about time.
Impeaching a president isn’t something I take lightly. But it is of the utmost importance that we follow the U.S. Constitution. One of the bedrocks of our democracy is that no one is above the law. Congress is a co-equal branch of government and has a constitutional responsibility to conduct oversight and act as a check on the power of the president. We cannot set the precedent that we don’t hold our leaders accountable.
Join me tomorrow evening at the Monticello Community Center. Together, we can build a movement to fight for working families in Minnesota and throughout the United States.

** Making History in St. Cloud
------------------------------------------------------------
I want to thank all the amazing people that made St. Cloud's first ever Pride Parade a success. Our LGBTQ+ community, and all their allies, are doing a tremendous job to make sure everyone living in St. Cloud is embraced as a valued member of our community. This city has proven itself to be vibrant, diverse and full of love and joy. I was proud to attend three different events over the last week, and I will continue to fight on behalf of all our people to ensure that no one is forced to feel the pain of facing discrimination.
It is a shame that the forum on dismantling hate crimes in St. Cloud was postponed due to a protest from a group that promotes hate crimes, causing a public safety concern. But, together, we made sure hate did not succeed. I was thrilled to join roughly 300 people in the Pride and Peace Walk.
I know there are those that feel distrust and racism haunts St. Cloud. But always remember: There are far more people that love their neighbors than hate them.
Together, we can fight for a better future for working families in Minnesota and throughout the United States. Help give our campaign kickoff a boost with a modest donation! ([link removed])
