Fellow Conservative,

It’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, and I hope you will join me in remembering and honoring him today.

The world is a better place because Dr. King was in it. As a reverend and civil rights activist, his words have transformed lives and policies, and they still ring true today, more than 50 years later.

One of his quotes I’ve been reflecting on recently, especially as so many of my peers in Congress can’t seem to race fast enough to the radical left is this one:

"It so happens that communism is a system that I disagree with philosophically. I would not prefer to live under a communist system. I happen to feel that the great moments of history have been those moments when individuals have been left free to think and to act. And I feel that communism often stands in the way of certain First Amendment privileges that we have in America, for instance, that I just couldn't adjust to."

There is no doubt that America is on the path to communism, especially in light of what has been happening with Big Tech recently to silence conservative voices.

We cannot go further down that path — we must stop it now, and remember Dr. King’s words that great moments of history have been those moments when individuals have been left free to think and to act.

No matter what side of the aisle you’re on, we should all be free to think and act.

I’m grateful for such wise words, and the life of the man who spoke them. Please join me today in remember Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
