I believe that when Democrats lay the groundwork, and compete everywhere, we can pull off the unimaginable. We saw it in November when a record 81 million people voted for President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Harris and we saw it again just this month when Georgia flipped the Senate.

Now, I am honored that President-elect Biden has asked me to lead the Democratic National Committee -- and as one of President-elect Biden's strongest supporters, I wanted to write to you right away.

I'm truly honored by this endorsement. I'm as ready as ever to invest in every ZIP code to help elect candidates that know and represent their communities. And I am asking folks like you to join me in building on the progress we've made by chipping in to help build a stronger DNC:

I'm no stranger to the struggles so many Americans are facing. As the son of a single teenage mom in Orangeburg, South Carolina, my grandparents raised me. I knew what it was like to choose between paying the electric bill and putting food on the table. I knew what it was like to eat cereal with water, because we couldn't afford milk. I've dedicated my life to making things just a little bit easier for folks like my grandparents, and I'm going to bring those memories and values with me to my work at the DNC.

We have a lot of work to do in the coming months and years to heal our country, and to build back better. I believe that we can move the DNC into the future by making ourselves accessible to all Americans, and piece by piece we can restore the belief in the promise of America.
