He truly set a new standard for creating lasting change through peaceful means. Today we also look back at a difficult time in our history, marveling at how we collectively could have been so cruel to our fellow Americans. In 2021, we likewise see cruelty and division, and wonder what we can each do to eliminate it. On this anniversary of the celebration of the man who reminded Americans that love overcomes hatred and unity overcomes differences, I implore all of us to pause and remember who we are and what we should stand for as Americans. Let us also remember that America is founded on the idea that each of us should be entitled to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, even when we may not always agree on how we achieve those ideals. And, of course, that is okay. Let’s spend the next four years bringing people together, unifying behind our principles, and not further dividing ourselves based on our differences. As your Chairman, I commit to grow the Utah Republican Party. I will do everything I can to heal the divide, focusing on core Republican principles. Together, we can keep Utah strong, setting an example for the rest of the country. Chairman Derek E. Brown Utah Republican Party 15 W.
