Ahead of the House impeachment vote, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez went live on Instagram to connect with her supporters. During the live stream, she shared that she had a “close encounter” where she thought she was going to die in the Capitol on January 6.
During the live stream, the congresswoman also delivered a direct message to Senators Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley for their part in contributing to the lies that lead to the Capitol attacks when she said, “You do not belong in the United States Senate.” Rep. AOC went on to call Donald Trump an “active threat to every single American,” adding that “you're either with the people, or you're with that mob.”
