Friends —
This MLK Day, I'm spending my time reflecting on the values and goals that Martin Luther King Jr. fought for, and how his fight still continues today.
Less than two weeks ago, we saw an angry mob storm the Capitol Building armed with confederate flags and weapons, and fueled by hatred and vitriol.
It's clear that we still have a long way to go in ensuring racial equality in our country, and we must keep fighting and never accept the status quo.
We owe it to generations of people who have been abused, mistreated, and deprived of human rights. We must never lose sight of that goal as we make choices in Washington.
I ran for Congress to serve the people — to fight for those who need an advocate and to level the playing field wherever possible.
I'll never give up the fight that Martin Luther King Jr. gave his life for, and I hope you won't either.
In service,
