Team,
Today we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Dr. King is someone we can all look to during these difficult times. His principles of nonviolence, justice, and service are critical to be mindful of as we work to address the many challenges our nation faces.
Dr. King once said, “Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?’” As your Congressman, I will continue to work every day to embody that sentiment by continuing to be a trusted resource and public servant for my community and my nation.
We all have the capacity to do our part to give back and serve others. That is why I’m teaming up with the Presidential Inaugural Committee to unite Americans everywhere in service of their communities. You can sign up to volunteer in honor of Dr. King by clicking here!
Dr. King campaigned for justice and democracy throughout his life of service. He acknowledged it may not happen in his lifetime, but knew that as long as we continued to push forward for a fair and truly equal society we would be successful. Today, we are still faced with injustice and the struggle is more urgent now than ever before following the assault on our democracy in the U.S. Capitol earlier this month.
And it will take all of us, working together to better ourselves, our neighborhoods, and our communities, to create the change we seek. This MLK Day, I encourage you to take action today and in the days and months ahead to volunteer and give back to our communities!
Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day!
