While extremists say they are only exercising their 2nd amendment rights, carrying weapons at demonstrations is clearly intended to intimidate others. Should physical altercations occur, it elevates the level and lethality of violence involved. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. stood up against the tactics and ideology of these gun extremists. We honor his legacy today by calling on our elected officials to protect North Carolinians from gun violence.
