REPUBLICAN PARTY OF NEW MEXICO STATEMENT ON TODAY’S MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY HOLIDAY

Albuquerque, January 18—The following is a statement from RPNM Chairman Steve Pearce on today’s federal holiday honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.:

“Today we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a true champion of civil rights and one who promoted peace, fairness and equality. Dr. King’s moral courage must always be recognized, and his Dream of a better and brighter America should be an inspiration to us all, particularly in these recent dark days of social and racial unrest. The Republican Party is the party of Lincoln, and we all stand tall with our brothers and sisters in our efforts to reach King’s Promised Land. In these troubled times, we must reflect on Dr. King’s powerful words, deeds, calls for peaceful protests and vision as we all strive for unity and healing in our great nation.”
