Friend,

When Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. saw a world of injustice, he got to work to fix it. He dedicated his whole life to service and the fight for equality.

Dr. King knew a better world was possible if we demanded it together. And so he inspired millions to march and raise their voices, to hold their elected officials accountable, to teach their fellow citizens about injustice.

Dr. King’s advocacy moved the moral arc of our universe toward justice, and we owe a debt of gratitude to him.

Yet it's clear we still have a long way to go. This Martin Luther King Jr. Day finds us in the midst of a tough and extraordinary time. After watching the attack on our Capitol earlier this month, many of us are filled with dread and despair.

But we must channel our fears into action, and honor Dr. King's memory through service.

The Biden Inaugural Committee is hosting service events across the country to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Will you get involved in an event in your community today?
