Hi John,
Last week I emailed you about a big development in parliament - the Trade Bill coming back to the House of Commons. How this plays out will have a huge impact on future trade deals.
Right now, our government could do secret trade deals with countries like the US and Australia. That could mean hormone-pumped beef, pus-filled milk and pesticide-laden fruit and veg on our supermarket shelves.
This is our opportunity to stop the government from negotiating these deals in secret, and to make sure that MPs are able to properly scrutinise deals before they are official - making it easier to protect our food standards and guarantee that other vital issues like the climate emergency are factored in.
Can you ask your MP to demand they have a say?

I'll level with you - I know that sometimes it doesn't feel like emailing your MP will make a big difference. But this is too important for us not to make our voices heard. This vote could be close - and every email counts. The more people reaching out to MPs on the issue, the more pressure they will feel to demand a say over future trade deals.
Thanks for all that you do,
Alia
