Donald Trump's abuse of power is even worse than we thought.

Dear MoveOn member,

Donald Trump's abuse of power is even worse than we thought.

This morning, the Trump administration released notes from Trump's call with the president of Ukraine. The notes confirm that Trump told him to investigate Joe Biden and the Democratic National Committee, that Attorney General William Barr and Rudy Giuliani would provide assistance in the investigation, and that if Ukraine did this "favor," he implied that the U.S. would unfreeze military aid.1

These notes, carefully compiled by Trump's White House to show him in the best light, are a smoking gun. If this is what they wanted us to see, it suggests that the full transcript of the call—along with the full whistleblower complaint—would be even more damning.

What Trump released should be enough to impeach and remove him, and we cannot allow Trump, the GOP, and their cronies at Fox News to use this release to build a false narrative and throw cold water on impeachment proceedings.

MoveOn is in the middle of an emergency campaign to shore up support for Trump's impeachment with every single Democratic member of Congress. We're demanding that impeachment proceedings move forward without any delay, and we need your help to keep the pressure on this week.

John, please chip in $3 right now to power our urgent campaign to fast-track Trump's impeachment.

In light of this overwhelming evidence, the number of Democrats supporting action on impeachment is growing by the hour and has now reached the magic number of 218—a majority of the House of Representatives.2

Now we need to make sure NOBODY changes their mind. And starting Friday, Congress goes on a two-week recess. If we do not maintain majority support for an impeachment inquiry—and expand support for a vote on impeachment itself—then there is a possibility that some Democrats will lose their nerve and pull back their support. That's why we have to pull out all the stops right now and keep the pressure on every single House Democrat.

Since Monday, MoveOn has driven thousands of calls to the holdouts in Congress, planned an event in support of impeachment on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., and worked to counter the Republican media narrative—and we will keep the pressure on as long as we have your support.

Please chip in $3 to power our emergency campaign for Trump's impeachment.

Let's be clear: The most recent news about Trump's attempted use of a foreign power to interfere in our next election is a shocking abuse of power—but it is far from the only reason that he should be impeached.

MoveOn first called for Trump's impeachment over two years ago, after he fired James Comey in an attempt to crush the Russia investigation. In the intervening years, we've learned of at least 11 more instances of obstruction of justice carried out by Trump and his allies to try to stop the Russia investigation, that the Trump campaign had multiple contacts with Russian officials during the 2016 campaign, and that they happily accepted foreign help to influence the election.3

On top of that, Trump has repeatedly violated the Constitution by personally profiting from the presidency, and he has flouted international law by ripping apart families legally applying for asylum at the border and locking them up in cages.

Trump must be impeached for all of these crimes, and Congress cannot hold back from using every tool they have to hold him accountable.

Thanks for all you do.
