I have incredible news to share. It was just confirmed that President-elect Biden will rescind the Muslim Ban on his first day in office! That means, after four long years, the end of the Muslim Ban is within reach.

I want to personally thank you for making this possible. Your partnership and investment in our work has gotten us to this point, and now the process of reuniting millions of American families can begin.

I feel like we’ve been vindicated after four long years. I don’t have to tell you about the pain and trauma that so many people have suffered under this ban. You and I both knew from the beginning that banning people because of their religion was wrong. What we never could have imagined is how much work it would take to right this wrong.

Over the last four years, Muslim Advocates has filed seven federal lawsuits; mobilized over 400 organizations and corporations to publicly oppose the ban; led the coalition of more than 100 civil rights and faith-based organizations that helped pass the NO BAN Act in the House; educated over 4.5 million people about their rights under the ban; and fought to get this commitment from President-elect Biden.

To be clear, there’s more work to do. It will take time and work to reunite these families and Congress still needs to pass the NO BAN Act to ensure no one can be banned like this ever again.
