Today is National Day of Service, in commemoration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy, and in tandem with the Inauguration of President-Elect Joe Biden and Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris. It marks an opportunity for all Americans to unite when many of us are grappling with uncertainty, isolation, and division.
Although the pandemic has changed the way we interact with each other, there are still countless ways to support our communities through this difficult time. And because all events will be held virtually or socially-distanced in accordance with public health guidelines, volunteering is made more accessible than ever.
Dr. King was dedicated to making sure every child had the tools and resources they needed to reach their fullest potential. This year, in honor of that commitment, Susie is asking her supporters to spend an hour phone-banking with Hunger Free America’s 20th Annual MLK Serve-A-Thon: Food Justice is Youth Led. Volunteers will be calling local community members to help connect them with SNAP and WIC resources, as part of Hunger Free America's food justice initiative. What do you say? Will you join Susie in participating in the MLK Day of Service? [[link removed]]

We’ve made a lot of progress but we’ve still got a lot of work to do to turn Dr. King’s dream into a reality.
In solidarity,
