John —

White Supremacy is alive and well. But it will not prevail over our democracy.

The violent attack on the Capitol, incited by Donald Trump, meant to overturn the election, silence our voices, and trample on our mandate for transformational change, was largely unsuccessful.

Despite the chaos that threatened the lives of Congress members and resulted in five deaths — the 117th Congress certified the election results and officially declared Joe Biden and Kamala Harris President and Vice President of the United States.

These are historic and unprecedented times that call for historic and unprecedented hope, faith, and action.

While Donald Trump, Republican members of Congress, and the insurrectionists think that America and the election is theirs to steal — they are wrong. And I will not rest until each and every person involved is held accountable.

I, along with my colleagues in the House, have impeached Donald Trump for a second time. Now, it’s on the Senate to do what they must to remove Trump and secure our democracy for generations to come.

The road ahead will not be easy. Republicans and white supremacist alike will burn the midnight oil finding ways to undermine our fight for progress. But as long as we work together, we will win over their division and hate every time.
