Friend, you can draw a straight line from gerrymandering to the rise of misinformation and inciteful rhetoric in the Republican Party. And the map manipulators themselves are beginning to admit it:

The simple truth is that when maps are gerrymandered so badly that Republicans only have to worry about primaries and not general elections, the most extreme elements in the Republican Party are emboldened.

That's one of the reasons we're working every day to end GOP gerrymandering. By stopping the map manipulation that gave them their seats, we can "de-platform" the extremists whose rhetoric has recently escalated into political violence.
