Since even before I arrived in Washington, DC, I called for the impeachment and removal of Donald Trump from office, because of his tyrannical behavior.

In 2016, in response to Trump’s proposed Muslim ban, I was thrown out of a Trump speech at the Detroit Economic Club for demanding he read the Constitution. In 2019, in my first months in Congress, I introduced a resolution to impeach Donald Trump for his daily attacks on our laws and institutions.

Now, together, we have followed through on that promise to impeach this dangerous, treasonous president. Twice.

Together, we changed what people thought was politically possible. Together, we have held this president accountable for his violence and insurrection.

White supremacy did not begin with Trump and it will not end with Trump. And the Republican Party that has actively encouraged and benefited from the rise of this hate and division must be held to account.
