Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is one of the greatest public servants this country has ever known. He moved mountains during his lifetime, awakening our nation - and the world - to deeply ingrained injustice. That's why tomorrow, in his honor, we recommit ourselves to pursuing justice for all. We all know there is still much work to be done.

As we honor his legacy, we remember his steadfast dedication to the pursuit of equality and tolerance for people of all backgrounds and beliefs. And at a time when our nation feels deeply divided, we must continue working to live up to Dr. King's dream that one day this nation can live up to its creed.

That's why tomorrow, in his honor, we recommit ourselves to pursuing justice for all. We all know there is still much work to be done. So in concert with the inauguration of President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Harris, I'm encouraging you and your loved ones to partake in tomorrow's National Day of Service. To serve our country, our communities, as Dr. King did.

This National Day of Service is an opportunity for all Americans to do good for others - to unite in serving our communities during a time of crisis and heightened division. Please, join me in what is just the beginning of building back better, together:
