Hello Somebody!
There were almost 90 million people in this country who were either uninsured or underinsured before this pandemic hit. Today, because we tie health care to employment in this country, millions more have joined their ranks... and in the middle of a global pandemic.
Let’s wrap our minds around that, shall we?
This virus is another reminder of the frailties of life, and one of the reasons I am running for Congress is because the nature and the level of suffering in this country demands we do something different — that we do better.
The people want Medicare for All, but the politicians — the ones in office right now — do not. If you’ll join me in this fight right now, when I am elected to Congress you will have a tireless supporter of health care as a right for every man, woman and child in this country.
When every other industrialized country has some form of universal health care, and Medicare for All is supported by a majority of Americans, you would think the moderate position would be to adopt the policy that covers the most people with the least amount of money.
But sadly, that isn’t the case right now.
And one of the millions of reasons we fight for Medicare for All is because the immoral, greed-driven commodified system we have must come to an end. The daily fear of life without health care is no way to live.
Add your name if you agree, and it will send a very powerful message to my future colleagues when I am elected to Congress:
Many of us know people who are overburdened with medical bills. Maybe you are one of them. We are fighting for everyone who lives in that reality, because that is one debt that should not exist in America.
With these hands... WE WILL have Medicare for All.
