The recent revelation that President Trump pressured Ukraine to investigate his political opponents is a textbook case of abuse of power.

I agree with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi that the evidence against President Trump justifies a formal impeachment inquiry and the opening of impeachment proceedings.

Failing to confront the facts before Congress would represent an abrogation of our most basic responsibilities.

It is time for Congress to act and hold President Trump accountable.
