Rep. Brad Schneider had a harsh message for GOP lawmakers after testing positive for COVID-19: “I am now in strict isolation worried that I have risked my wife’s health and angry at the selfishness and arrogance of the anti-maskers who put their own contempt and disregard for decency ahead of the health and safety of their colleagues and our staff.”
During the insurrection at the Capitol, many Republican lawmakers -- including those surrounding Schneider -- refused to wear masks while sheltering in confined spaces. Even as they condemned the violence outside their doors, they were still carelessly putting the lives of their congressional colleagues in danger.
The GOP lawmakers who may be responsible for a congressional superspreader event are the same ones formulating our public health policies and pandemic relief packages. That’s why we need to know today:
