I have good news and bad news.
First the good news.
In recent years, The Humane League and our allies have convinced hundreds of companies to end their reliance on cruel cages. Many of these companies promised to eliminate cage eggs by the beginning of 2021. The bad news? Not all of them followed through—yet.
These commitments were a vital step. But if they go unfulfilled, they serve only to deceive customers and harm animals. In short, empty promises won’t empty cages.
Throughout 2020, our negotiators convinced dozens of big brands to report publicly on their transition away from cages. But 13 are holding out. Between them, these companies control the fate of millions of hens. They’ve had their last chance. Now we need to turn up the heat. That’s where you come in.
I’ve seen corporations try to back out of animal welfare commitments because they think the public doesn’t care enough. They think you don’t care enough. Let’s prove them wrong!
These companies know full well the harm that cages cause. They know that a caged hen can’t spread her wings, or stand up straight. They know that every minute of her day is filled with stress, pain, and fatigue. But for some companies, doing the right thing for the right reason isn’t enough. We need to speak to them in a language they understand: public exposure. That’s why we’re releasing the 2021 Eggsposé—the dishonorable list of companies that won public favor by pledging to get hens out of cages, but have since fallen silent.
Can you spare one minute today to help us hold these companies accountable?
We’ve come so far in the fight to free hens from cages. We can’t give up now.

P.S. Cages deny hens everything that makes their lives meaningful. No company can justify profiting from this abuse in 2021. Help us show them that animals deserve better—sign the petition now!
