The more we learn about the insurrection in the U.S. Capitol on January 6th, the more disgraceful the actions of Republicans who voted to overturn the presidential election seem to be.

On top of the damage done to the Constitution, the several police officers and MPD officers who were injured, and the lives lost on that day, we are learning some members of Congress were in life-threatening situations. If it had not been for a few brave officers putting their lives at risk in the line of duty, this insurrection could have turned into a public execution of elected officials.

Even yesterday, the America public received startling news that specific members of Congress may have assisted in the reconnaissance of the insurrectionists, disguised as "guided tours".

This is why today, The Georgia Blue Project joins The Lincoln Project in calling for Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley to resign immediately. There are many who are at fault for what happened that day, but Cruz and Hawley led the charge for months to overturn the election by objecting to the election certification process.

We are also calling on the Seditious Six, those Georgia congresspersons who also voted to try and overturn the election results, to resign immediately: Rick Allen, Earl L. "Buddy" Carter, Andrew Clyde, Marjorie Taylor-Greene, Jody Hice, and Barry Loudermilk.

If they refuse to resign of their own accord, and if they are not expelled by the House of Representatives for their complicity, then we have one message for them: We will see that they answer to the majority of Georgia voters, who were against their insidious plot, in 2022.

Friend, we must make them pay for what they did to our democracy in the name of Georgia on January 6th. We know that they will not let go of their power willingly, and we need to be ready to challenge them in 2022.
