Julián made 10 stops across Iowa this weekend to meet supporters where they're at and share his vision for the future of our country!

On Friday, Julián stood with students in the global #ClimateStrike by participating in a student climate change forum in Marion, Iowa to talk about the importance of passing a Green New Deal.

Later that night at the LGBTQ Presidential Forum hosted by GLAAD, he boldly declared his plans to increase protections for the LGBTQ community. He announced that he would “appoint a task force to investigate and address the murder of transgender black women of color,” appoint a cabinet that would reflect the diversity of this country including the LGBTQ community, and assist LGBTQ asylum seekers.

On Saturday morning, Julián joined Fight for 15 and Mary Kay Henry in fighting for $15 minimum wage and the right to unionize at their kickoff rally.

The day was just getting started!

It was time to head over to the famous Polk County Democrats’ Steak Fry. Team Julián made quite the entrance, dancing and cheering alongside a Mariachi band!

After showing them how we master the grill in Texas, he addressed all 11,000 attendees on the main stage at the Steak Fry!

In the afternoon, he received a standing ovation when he talked about his immigration plan at the People’s Presidential Forum hosted by Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement.

On Sunday, Julián spoke with volunteers in Des Moines who were preparing to go knock on some doors for a canvass launch in Des Moines.

He spent his last day speaking with farmers and rural community members in Jefferson and Perry on the devastating agricultural effects of Trump’s trade war.

Thank you for all of the support we received throughout this weekend. Can't wait to visit Iowa again soon!

Paid for by Julián for the Future
Contributions or gifts to Julián for the Future are not tax deductible.

No one like Julián Castro has ever been in the Oval Office. His grandmother immigrated here from Mexico when she was just 7 years old. She never got past the 4th grade, but she provided for her family by working as a maid and a housekeeper.

Now, her grandson is running for President of the United States. Against all odds, grassroots Democrats like YOU helped him qualify for the Democratic debates and sent him to the front of the pack of Democratic candidates.

We know we send you a lot of emails, but that’s because we’re relying on grassroots supporters to overcome our next big challenge:

Julián must be able to compete and build a movement that lasts for the long haul, and he’s not taking a cent of corporate PAC money to do it. Will you be a part of this historic campaign?
