Dear John,

This week JPMorgan Chase announced a huge financial commitment to LGBTQ+ equality, including a $1 million investment in GLSEN.

This vital funding will strengthen GLSEN’s youth leadership programming and racial equity investments across our national network, to ensure that LGBTQ+ students at all intersections of identity are getting the support they need to thrive, and that K-12 education in this country ends the perpetuation of bias-based violence and discrimination from one generation to the next.

I am so grateful to JPMorgan Chase for this remarkable investment. And we’re proud to be in great company with our fellow grantees, Out & Equal, SAGE, the San Francisco AIDS Foundation, and The Center.

One quick glance at the front page of any paper these days will underscore the urgency of this work. Through investments in staff capacity, new materials, and new technology, we’ll ensure that GLSEN is ready to play our part in work ahead. We will build on 30 years of transformative impact on core LGBTQ+ issues in education. We’ll leverage decades of support and partnership with incredible student advocates. And we will make sure that all of our work contributes to making K-12 education a site of support, affirmation, and liberation for all LGBTQ+ students.

Investments like these provide the building blocks for the future that every child deserves. Thank you JPMorgan Chase, and thank you to everyone who is part of GLSEN’s incredible network of support.

Sincerely,

Eliza
